Nitika, a resident of Lucknow, had her first brush with photography in Grade 11. When a Digital Learning Lab was set up in her school, Nitika sharpened her computer skills and learnt Photoshop. Reaching out to a photography studio, she implored them to train her. She agreed to assist them on shoots, carrying equipment and running sundry errands. Hardworking and diligent, Nikita was soon shooting events for them. Just 19 years old, Nitika is now an experienced wedding photographer, having covered close to 300 weddings. An enterprising person, she manages a YouTube channel and an Instagram page. To augment her income during the lockdown, she dabbled in decorations for parties and also set up a cake delivery service. Fiercely independent, she pays her college fees, takes care of her expenses and is a proud owner of brand-new Honda car.
Opening her own production house ‘Lifestyle productions’, Nitika now dreams of owning a studio. “There are so many girls passionate about photography, but few opportunities for them. We will train and employ only women - My studio will be the first in the city to do so. This is my way of giving back”.
