all see value. And all the bits have to play

Akshara’s programmes include the
Karnataka Learning Partnership to bring
together all stakeholders in the public
education space in Karnataka in order to
make it more accountable, transparent and
solve the complex challenges of the sector; as
well as its world-class flagship programme,
Ganitha Kalika Andolana (GKA) (which
means mathematics learning movement) and
which works to bring children up to grade
appropriate levels in maths through innovative
teaching learning materials, and developing a
gamified app, Building Blocks, with over 400
Math games mapped to the state textbook
syllabus, available in 9 regional languages.
GKA has now scaled up and is the State-
adopted numeracy programme for all 90,000+
government schools in Karnataka and Odisha.
Teachers need to learn the new methods too, so they can inspire young minds with a passion for Math
