individuals benefit under specific projects
and receive support. On the other hand,
community awareness, and advocacy with
governmental partnerships ensure a broader
impact. Community-driven, bespoke projects
are designed with inputs from all stakeholders,
from beneficiaries to local leaders. Engagement
with local and government authorities and
alignment with existing government policies
and programmes ensures the long-term
sustainability of these projects and the creation
of a supportive ecosystem and a brighter future
for the children of Kashmir.
‘Recognition from Child Rights and You
(CRY), New Delhi, marked an eight-year
collaboration with a primary focus on Home
Based Rehabilitation in District Srinagar
and Budgam. e ensuing years witnessed
impactful projects, including collaborations
with UNICEF and capacity building for
Police Officers, laying the foundation for
transformative initiatives. In 2022, our
collaboration with the Directorate of School
Education, Kashmir marked a milestone,
initiating impactful mental health awareness
sessions for adolescent students across districts,’
says Arjumand Makhdoomi.
