SROUT KORBA envisions a society
in which people live with dignity,
prosperity and happiness. With its
headquarters in Chhattisgarh, the
organization aims to end poverty
by empowering marginalized and
vulnerable communities, improve
their livlehoods, health and
education, while providing them
with the capacity to take ownership
of their own development. So far
SROUT KORBA has skilled up
to 1,000 women and 500 men on
different trades for livelihood, along
with forming and strengthening more
than 1,000 self-help groups. More
than 3500 mothers and 2000 children
are impacted every year through its
interventions in health and nutrition.
the malnutrition rate among
children
under 5 has improved by a
whopping 53 per cent and the anaemia
improvement rate of 1000-day mothers
(pregnant women and mothers with children
up to 24 months) has gone up by 61 per cent.
e kitchen garden success rate is 69 per
cent and the haemoglobin level of over 900
mothers has been checked. ese are some
of the huge successes of the NGO the Social
Revival Group of Urban Rural and Tribal -
SROUT KORBA which besides working in
health and nutrition for women and children
in Korba region, Chhattisgarh, also works
on child rights and protection, livelihoods,
soil and water conservation, women’s
empowerment and protection, and education.
‘Our primary aim is to respect and study
the cultural and social diversities among
tribal communities and identify ourselves
with them so that we may have a long-
lasting relationship. e process takes time,
but we found ourselves representing the
communities confidently and getting wider
community acceptance. Another significant
