The HCLTech Grant Project in Action
e HCLTech Grant has helped us implement
and run the DROP (Drive to Recover Ocean
Plastic) project in Kerala, creating awareness
among the fisher community. e Grant
provides for studies and reports which will help
in measuring the impact of the project. e
VMF (water weed recovery project in Vembanad
Lake and its conversion to briquettes) is now
in the study phase and we will soon implement
it. DROP has integrated with the state’s Haritha
Kerala Mission and has helped the local self-
government manage over 35 tons of plastic that
might have ended up in the ocean.
Working with the HCLFoundation
It has been an excellent learning process as we
have had to conform to the highest standards
of compliances and quality checks. We are
Plan@Earth envisions communities that are conscious and self-reliant
in waste management and who live by the principles of Reduce,
Reuse and Recycle. It currently offers waste management and recycling
services in two municipalities and eight panchayats, catering to nearly
64,000 households in Kerala, managing over 124,000 kilos of dry
waste a month.
