And finally, it engages with the
private healthcare sector by building
capacity on standardized care, as well
as sharing data with the government to
inform policy. ‘We also invest strongly in
strengthening community systems, and
ensuring community voices are heard in
development dialogues,’ says Dr. Raghavan.
A ten-year private sector intervention
to promote prevention of mother-to-child
transmission in Andhra Pradesh, Tamil
Nadu and Maharashtra has been adopted
by the Government of India to be scaled
up across the Indian private health sector.
It also pioneered the first e-learning course
to train public health personnel in research
methodology and data analysis. Its IVRS
based system, m-Maitri, helps impart
health literacy and gather feedback from
pregnant women diagnosed with HIV.
Such innovations have led this remarkable
organization to achieve real impact.
