merely a medical procedure to a woman-

centered comprehensive service. It is now

the go-to partner for the ministry, aiding

in the formulation of national policies

and technical standards for abortion and

contraception.

e healthcare delivery system built

by ID works with women in rural

communities directly. Community

programmes are led by women it trains as

leaders. ID’s research at the community

level includes a study with 900 women and

girls from three states to understand the

impact of Covid-19 on their sexual and

reproductive health.
