HCL Foundation, under its Flagship Programme HCL Samuday, Partners with Oorja Development Solutions in Hardoi to Nurture Solar-Based Livelihood Opportunities
Together they will work in 11 blocks of Hardoi district of Uttar Pradesh to develop solar projects for irrigation, agro-processing, cold storage, and climate change mitigation for livelihood improvement. The partnership is aimed at creating positive changes in the lives of farmers and low-income rural community members by replacing fossil fuels with low-carbon and low-cost solar energy.
As part of this collaboration, eight community solar pumps will be installed, operated, and maintained in two villages of Hardoi where farmers currently rely on diesel pumps and lack access to reliable and affordable irrigation.
