HCL Foundation’s Urban CSR program “HCL Uday” is an Integrated Community Development program for underprivileged communities, including migrant workers and displaced people living in urban slums. It works towards equitable and sustainable development of the communities living below poverty line in the Urban areas.
HCL Uday addresses vital issues prevalent in urban areas like access to education, preventive health, sustainable livelihood opportunities, improved water, sanitation and hygiene through campaigns for positive urban transformation.
The program reaches out to areas that are often faced with challenges of rapid urbanisation and inability of communities to be able to cope up. In most places there is significant population living in undignified conditions with negligible access to basic services such as education, health, livelihoods and overall environmental upkeep.
To improve the quality of life of communities living in urban areas through sustainable integrated community development across the themes of Education, Skills Training, preventive Health, Water and Infrastructure in partnership with central, state and local governments, communities, NGO’s, academician, and allied partners.
Currently HCL Foundation operates in 7 states in India through its various projects.
An inclusive step towards ensuring sustainable career development for students from weaker economic backgrounds. Under this Programme, HCL Foundation provides long-term scholarship and mentoring support to meritorious and talented students from HCL project locations and children of HCL’s support staff. The scholarship is funded through Power of One – HCL’s payroll giving programme and driven by HCL employees who provide mentoring support to the scholars.
